Art Contest

Texas State Parks and the “Get to Know” organization are partnering for the fourth annual Youth Arts Contest. The contest runs through Nov. 1 and anyone 19 and under can enter works of art inspired by the natural beauty in any state park.

“Everyone enjoys state parks in different ways and this is a fun way for young people to express their experiences,” said Russell Fishbeck, deputy director of Texas State Parks.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Youth Arts Contest encourages youth to share their outdoor experiences using art, writing, photography, video and music. Works will be entered in both the state and national Get to Know Contests.

This year’s contest will have three age categories: 14-19, 10-13 and under 10. Prizes will be awarded to an overall winner, as well as to first through fourth places for each age category.

Full contest rules can be found here.

The contest is part of TPWD’s Arts in the Parks program and aims to motivate Texans of all ages to connect with the outdoors through art.
